The two honourable mentions have been assigned to two guys from Ancona, designer Giorgio Di Cesare and architect Elisa Ciucciovè, and to two architect students Mattia Casonato and Edoardo Berra from Udine.
The winner is Matteo Marcuzzi, a young architect from Mortegliano. His idea is a contemporary object designed to create a space for the smartphone at the dining table, an innovative idea consistent with the digital era.
The Winner: S2P5
S2P5 by the architect Matteo Marcuzzi, has been chosen as the winner of this edition: S stands for “Society”, 2 is the English abbreviation for “to”, P is for the word “Phone”.
“Society to phone” is a statement that points out an enormous use of the phone nowadays, even while we are having a meal at our table, this project is like a suggestion. You should never place the phone on the table, but under it, at hand, thanks to this object.
L’oggetto progettato ha lo scopo di educare all’utilizzo del telefono e dare la giusta importanza alle persone con cui si condivide la tavola.
The number 5 used at the end of the motto recalls the form of the project.
The number 5 in fact seems to have a table hook and a bag below that could hold an object. In this specific case , for this project, it is precisely a hook that acts as a holder cutlery and an open container below that can accommodate our smartphone.
Mention: CORNICE 27
Project designed by Giorgio Di Cesare, designer, and Elisa Ciucciovè, architect, both from Teramo, Marche. CORNICE27 its a composition of mats and coasters in solid wood that is inspired by picture frames.
The idea is to literally “frame” the objects that are usually used at the table.
The dishes in the plates, in the bowls or in other containers will help to create the artistic opera!
The meaning is twofold. On the one hand there is the playful aspect of the composition, on the other there is the desire to put the food at the very center, making the table itself (already a place of sharing, not only for eating moments) an even more convivial moment, which generates stories and brings people closer.
CORNICE27 brings together the knowledge of craftsmanship with the productivity of machines, creating tailor-made combinations to frame the most beautiful moments while sitting at the table.
Mention: TE4MWORK
Designed by two students of architecture: Edoardo Berra and Mattia Casonato.
TE4MWORK was created from the desire to combine design and functionality enclosing in a single composition materials and tools for daily use.
It has the ability to break down into 4 sub-elements able to maintain theri independence.
A tray, a bread cutter, a cutting board and a knife rack are the objects that give shape to this composition.
The possibility of changing the position of the parts makes this composition suitable both for right and left-handed.
TE4MWORK prepresents the emblem of the team game in which every single “individual” contributes to the general harmony
